Blasts from the past.

Everyone loves finding new music but sometimes you just want to listen to something that you know and love. There’s nothing like music to bring you back to a time and a place.

We all have times when we just want to soak in memories, delight the senses with some familiar sounds and think back to the good times. Or just whack on a playlist of throwback tunes!

Electric Ireland, the official energy partner of Electric Picnic, will bring 90s nostalgia and slammin’ pop tunes to Stradbally this September with the ultimate Throwback Stage. Childhood legends Don Conroy and Dustin the Turkey will star on the Facebook Live game show, the Electric Ireland Throwback Show, tomorrow at 8pm. Tune in to their Facebook page to be in with a chance to win tickets to Electric Picnic.

With all this nostalgia flowing, we thought we’d sift through this year’s Electric Picnic acts and compile a playlist of their classic hits and old school tunes.

There’s a bit of everything in here. If you’re looking for old school hip-hop and R&B, we have the powerhouse that is Chaka Khan and the smooth groove of A Tribe Called Quest. 80s fans are catered for with a bit of Madness, the synth pop stylings of Duran Duran and the punk pop of The Pretenders.

Indie kids will be transported back to the late nineties and early noughties with the likes of Elbow, Interpol and A Band of Horses included. And the musical diversity of the 90s is ably represented with the pop band strut of 5ive going up against the off kilter musicality of The Divine Comedy and dance royalty like Pete Tong. Throw in some classic Irish bands and a few surprises and the memories should come flooding back!

Electric Ireland is the official energy partner of Electric Picnic. And we’re bringing 90s chart sensations 5ive, S Club Party and Jenny Berggren from Ace of Base PLUS a heap of nostalgia-filled fun and frolics, to our ultimate Throwback Stage at Stradbally this September.
