U2 paid a moving tribute to the late Sinead O’Connor this week.
U2 has paid an emotional tribute to Sinead O’Connor at their Las Vegas show at the brand new Sphere venue.
The band honoured the late Irish singer by performing a cover of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’.
They were performing ‘With or Without You’ when they broke into the chorus of the singer’s chart-topping song.

U2 pay tribute to Sinead O’Connor during Las Vegas residency
The Irish band kick-started their Las Vegas residency at the $2.3 billion auditorium called The Sphere, where they are playing the entirety of their 1991 album ‘Achtung Baby’.
U2 will perform 25 shows at the incredible venue, which holds 18,000 people.
Their moving tribute comes after the harrowing loss of Sinead O’Connor in July. The singer was tragically found dead at her home in London. The 56-year-old was found unresponsive by police and was later laid to rest at Dean’s Grange Cemetery on August 8th.
O’Connor worked with U2 on multiple occasions throughout her career. She wrote multiple songs with the band and duetted with Bono on ‘You Made Me the Thief of Your Heart’.
Following her devastating death, the band paid tribute to Sinead O’Connor.
They posted a moving tribute on Instagram after news of the singer’s death broke.
“Touch these eyes with a broken smile, Touch my mouth with your furrowed brow, Lift my heart, heal my shame, Lead me into rest again .. Heroine.. Rest In Peace Sinéad.”
