VIDEO: Bono recites lyrics to a new song he has written as a tribute to Paris

Carl Kinsella

His heart is in the right place.

There’s no point pretending like Bono doesn’t get a shower of abuse every time he opens his mouth, but it’s also impossible to deny that the man has spent much of his career using his influence to make a positive contribution to the world’s affairs.

Speaking to U2 Argentina’s YouTube channel with The Edge, Bono debuted the lyrics to a song called ‘Streets of Surrender’ about the attacks in Paris. He specifies that he’s written it for Italian singer Zucchero, so don’t expect to hear it at a U2 gig.

If you don’t like Bono, you’re not going to like this (it’s kind of peak Bono), but if you can appreciate that he’s trying to help people then this should make you smile.
