For all of the Kildare man’s obvious talents, he isn’t the most prolific of recording artists; indeed his forthcoming album ‘I Don’t Want to Change you’ is just his third studio album following ‘O’ in 2002 and ‘9’ in 2006, both of which proved to be a success for the popular singer-songwriter.
His new album, co-produced by the extremely highly-regarded Rick Rubin, will be released globally on October 31 and will be available to pre-order on iTunes from midnight, while the first single, ‘My Faded Fantasy’, will be available to stream on Spotify tomorrow. Given Rice’s cult status at home and his reputation on the international scene, expectations will be high ahead of the new release, but we like what we hear from the preview and if his new album can go anywhere near to repeating the success of his first two albums, particularly ‘O’, then he’ll surely be onto another winner.
