Remember Seo Linn, the band that formed in Coláiste Lurgan and who brought us Avicii’s ‘Wake Me Up’, as Gaeilge? Well, they’ve finally released their first original single and it’s brilliant…

Seo Linn are best known for their Irish covers of chart-topping tunes such as Avicii’s ‘Wake Me Up’, Macklemore’s ‘Can’t Hold Us’ and Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’, but now they’ve released their very own original tune called ‘Ar Scáth a Chéile’ and it’s absolutely brilliant.

Not only is ‘Ar Scáth a Chéile’ a great tune in JOE’s opinion, but it was also recorded while Seo Linn were abroad doing voluntary work in Uganda, as they explained on Facebook

“This song was written and video recorded in Uganda, on a voluntary trip with Self-Help Africa in October 2013. Many thanks to the Self-Help Africa team, especially Ronan Scully, and we are also indebted to Tree Light Pictures who filmed and produced the video, and of course, Mícheál Ó Foighil.

“Above all, a very special thanks to the students, teachers, and staff of Ndeeba Senior Secondary School in the Kayunga district.”

“Self Help Africa is an international charity that promotes and implements long-term rural development projects in Africa.”

So, without further ado, have a look at and a listen to ‘Ar Scáth a Chéile’. You can also check out ‘Ar Scáth a Chéile’ over on iTunes.
