Quite a transformation.
In seven short years, Gavin James has gone from performing on the balconies of Dame Street to supporting Ed Sheeran in front of 80,000 screaming fans in Croke Park.
Here we’ve got a video of the Dubliner as a whippersnapper, performing with his old band The Problematic (minus their drummer, who was at a Westlife concert, according to the video) for Balcony TV. The video’s description identifies Gavin by his full name, ‘Gavin Wigglesworth’.
The pair play a song called It’s Not Alright and within a matter of seconds, Gavin’s incredible singing voice shines through.
We don’t know what exactly prompted Gavin to cut off his luscious locks of red hair, or to change his performing name from ‘Gavin Wigglesworth’ to ‘Gavin James’, but it is safe to say that the decision has worked in his favour, and not just musically.

Haircut or not, it’s obvious from Gavin’s voice that he was always destined to go from the roof of a Dame St. building to the roof of Capitol Records.
