There was a time when Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher couldn’t stand being in the same room together, but time heals all wounds and the fact that they’re mates now is good news for those of us who didn’t want to have to choose between Oasis and Blur in the ‘90s.
The pair of them were in attendance at a 60th birthday party thrown for Paul Simonon of the Clash at the weekend and they, along with Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders, provided the music for what sounded like a cracking night’s entertainment.
In the video below, a mashup of Instagram recordings from the party, Albarn and Gallagher can be seen performing ‘Dare’ by the Goillaz, while they also played tracks by The Clash and The Good, the Bad and the Queen (of which Simonon is a member).
