Woody Harrelson reportedly settles lawsuit over Dublin nightclub row

Madison nightclub in Dublin has issued an ‘unreserved’ apology after refusing to allow a wheel-chair user into the club on Saturday night.

The new club on Wicklow Street is only open just over a month, but caused a huge stir when doormen turned away Graham Bolger simply because he was in a wheel chair.

Bolger posted a photo of himself outside the door on Facebook, rightly aggrieved that he wasn’t allowed into the new joint.

“That was just the start of my 45 minute ordeal of extreme discrimination at the hands of their staff,” he said.

Bolger, who said he has been using a wheelchair for eight years, added that he had never been refused entry to any venue in the world – “from boats to cliff-top castles, festivals to beach clubs, car rallies to deep sea dives”.

After posting the picture on his own profile page, and that of the nightclub, it quickly gathered public support, with more than 50,000 ‘likes’ in less than 24 hours.

Madison nightclub responded last night with an apology and confirmation that the doorman in question had been fired as a result.

Their Facebook page continues to be inundated with criticism and has made it a difficult weekend for the club that only opened its doors on February 4^th.
