10-year-old boy in critical condition after collision between his bike and a Jeep in Carlow

The 10-year-old boy has sadly passed away from his injuries.

Gardaí are looking for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision earlier today that has left a 10-year-old boy in critical condition.

The boy had been cycling when he was involved in a collision with a Jeep in the Ballymartin area of Borris, Carlow, at 1.30pm earlier today (25 June).

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed that the boy was airlifted from the scene of the incident to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin, where his condition has been described as critical.

Gardaí say that the scene is currently preserved for a examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
