10-year-old boy in critical condition after collision between his bike and a Jeep in Carlow

The 10-year-old boy has sadly passed away from his injuries.

Gardaí are looking for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision earlier today that has left a 10-year-old boy in critical condition.

The boy had been cycling when he was involved in a collision with a Jeep in the Ballymartin area of Borris, Carlow, at 1.30pm earlier today (25 June).

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed that the boy was airlifted from the scene of the incident to Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin, where his condition has been described as critical.

Gardaí say that the scene is currently preserved for a examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Investigators are now appealing for anyone with information, particularly any road users who may have dash-cam footage, to contact them at Carlow Garda Station on 059 913 6620 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
