Ireland's five day average of case numbers is now the highest it has been since 2 February.
As of midnight on Sunday 18 July, the Department of Health has been notified of 1071 new cases of Covid-19.
Of the 1071 cases, 101 are in hospital and 20 are in intensive care units.
According to the Department, Daily case numbers may change due to future data review, validation and update.
It is the first time hospitalisations in the country have reached over 100 people in months, and the 14-day incidence is now the highest it’s been since 24 February at 231/100,000.
The five-day average is also 1,159 cases per day, the highest it’s been since 2 February.
Following the news, the Department of Health has said that while the good weather is likely to continue - it is also likely that the country will see case numbers continue to rise as well as the "incidence of disease across all key indicators".
"If you are fully vaccinated, you can have confidence in your vaccine and enjoy socialising and meeting with other vaccinated people indoors, so long as you continue to follow the basic public health precautions," the Department said in a statement on Monday.
They also urged people who have yet to receive a Covid-19 vaccine to "continue to socialise outdoors" as case numbers continue to climb throughout the country.
"If you are waiting to be fully vaccinated, then it is best to continue to socialise outdoors. Events like barbecues, meeting in a park or going to the beach can be enjoyed safely once we do our best to minimise the risks of transmission," the statement continued.
"If you have planned to attend a social event, and you experience symptoms of Covid-19, including symptoms of seasonal cold and flu such as headache, sore throat, runny nose; please stay at home, do not attend that event."
