19 more deaths due to Covid-19 confirmed, 330 new cases announced

Ireland’s Covid-19 death toll now stands a 1,303.

The Republic of Ireland has suffered 19 further deaths as a result of Covid-19, the National Public Health Emergency Team announced on Sunday evening (4 May).

Tragically, the latest numbers see Ireland’s death tool rise to 1,303. These latest numbers also account for the denotification of two deaths.

Additionally, 330 new cases of the virus have been confirmed, meaning that Ireland’s total number of known cases now stands at 21,506.

As of midnight on Friday (1 May), we know that 13% of those diagnosed with the illness have been hospitalised. The most recent data notes that 58% of diagnoses are female while 42% are male, and the median age of those diagnosed is 49.

6,068, just over 28%, of cases have been confirmed as healthcare workers.
