252 new Covid-19 cases confirmed, no new deaths

The latest figures have been released.

252 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed, while no new deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours.

There has now been 70,711 confirmed cases of the virus since the start of the year, while the death toll stands at 2,022.

65% of Monday’s cases are people under the age of 45.

88 of today’s cases are in Dublin, while 26 are in Cork, 21 are in Kilkenny, 16 are in Louth and 16 are in Mayo.

The other 85 are spread across another 20 counties

There are currently 89 people in hospitals across the country with Covid-19, with 33 of them in the ICU.

Earlier on Monday, the Northern Ireland Department of Health reported that a further 280 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

Sadly, a further three deaths have also been reported.
