A massive haul.

Approximately €3.5 million worth of cocaine has been seized in Dublin.

On Thursday (24 September), in the course of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime, an operation was undertaken by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).

The operation involved a search being conducted at a location in Swords, where a quantity of a substance believed to be cocaine (subject to analysis), with an estimated street sale value of €3.5 million, was located and seized.

One man, aged 33 years, was arrested and is currently detained pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, at Swords Garda Station.

Speaking on Thursday, Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll who heads Organised and Serious Crime, said: “Participation by a number of sections within An Garda Síochána with assistance provided by Customs Revenue Service in this operation, has resulted in another significant seizure of a substance believed to be cocaine, which prevents further damage being inflicted within our communities.”
