307 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed, while one further death has also been reported. This brings the total number of cases in the country to 30,080, as well as 1,778 Covid-related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. The Republic of Ireland currently has 49 people in hospitals, with six people in ICU. 182 of Tuesday's cases are found in Dublin, while 25 are in Kildare, 19 in Limerick, 15 in Wexford, 15 in Louth, eight in Wicklow, six in Galway, six in Clare, six in Kilkenny and the remaining 25 cases located in Cavan, Cork, Donegal, Kerry, Longford, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath. 160 of the cases reported on Tuesday are men, while 146 are women. 73% of the cases are in people under 45 years of age. 64% are associated with outbreaks or close contacts of a confirmed case. 72 cases have been identified as community transmission. Speaking on Tuesday, acting CMO Ronan Glynn said: "I urge everyone to follow the public health advice and keep your distance. Do not underestimate the risks associated with any of your interactions." This news comes on the same day that it was confirmed that pubs would be reopened on 21 September. Publicans said that it is "about time" that wet pubs across the country are allowed to reopen.
