The man sustained serious head and facial injuries.
A man is in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries following an assault that took place in Dublin on Sunday, 21 November.
Shortly before 5pm on Sunday, a 51-year-old man was approached and subsequently assaulted by a group of males while he was walking on Haddington Road in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.
The man sustained serious facial and head injuries during the incident and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
His injuries have been described as non life-threatening.
Gardaí have noted that a significant amount of people were in the vicinity during the time of the assault, following the rugby match between Ireland and Argentina.
They are appealing to anyone with camera footage and motorists with dash cam footage from the Haddington Road area from between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Sunday to come forward.
