Gardaí helping in the search for a prisoner that escaped from University Hospital Limerick

It’s reported that the prisoner escaped from custody while receiving treatment at the hospital.

Gardaí are assisting the Irish Prison Service in tracing the whereabouts of a prisoner unlawfully at large from University Hospital Limerick.

The incident occurred today, 24 October.

Virgin Media News have reported that two investigations are currently underway and that the prisoner escaped from custody while receiving treatment at the hospital.

The man was in custody of prison officers at the time of his escape. Gardaí were immediately notified of the situation and the search for the escaped inmate is continuing.
