ESB says it has restored power to 72,000 customers.
8,000 households and businesses are still without power following Storm Eunice’s arrival in Ireland.
The storm made landfall in the southwest of Ireland early in the morning on Friday (18 February), bringing gusts of 130 kilometres per hour along with heavy rain, sleet and some snowy conditions.
A man died on Friday morning after sustaining injuries from a falling tree in Wexford.
Meanwhile, thousands across Ireland were left without power as a result of damage caused by the storm.
In an update posted to Twitter on Saturday morning, ESB said it has now restored electricity to 72,000 of its customers.
This is as its crews continue to work to bring back power to 8,000 households and businesses.

Meanwhile, Met Éireann has issued two Status Yellow weather warnings for the weekend.
The first is a rain alert for Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo and will be valid from 4pm on Saturday to 4pm on Sunday.
“Persistent rain followed by heavy showers will lead to localised flooding in places,” it reads.
The second is a wind warning for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Donegal, as well as the province of Connacht and will be in effect from 9am on Sunday to the same time the following day.
“Very strong westerly winds are expected on Sunday and Monday,” the alert states.
“Coastal flooding is possible in places.”
