Another horrific day for deaths in the United Kingdom.
The UK's NHS has confirmed that an additional 917 people have died in the last 24 hours, taking the Covid-19 total death toll to 9,875 since the outbreak began.
The latest increase follows a surge of 980 deaths in the UK on Good Friday. In a briefing on Saturday afternoon, Health Secretary Matt Hancock confirmed that a patient as young as 11 had died from the virus in the last day.
15 more people have died in Northern Ireland, bringing the total death toll in the north to 107, and the death toll for the island of Ireland to 395.
47 deaths were recorded in Scotland and 36 deaths were recorded in Wales. The new figures make the United Kingdom the fifth-worst hit country after Italy, the United States, Spain and France.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson remains in hospital but has been moved out of the intensive care unit.
