98FM launched its “Best of Dublin Campaign” this week to celebrate all that’s best about our capital city, from ‘best chipper’, to ‘best landmark’ and they want you to have your say…

For the month of June, 98FM will be calling on listeners to vote and share their view on the city’s best hidden gems, people, and businesses. The listener poll will lead up to a big awards ceremony in Dublin’s Smock Alley in Dublin city centre on July 2, where all the nominees will be celebrated at a gala event.

98FM is holding the awards campaign to unearth the true meaning of what it is to be a Dubliner… by Dubliners! Categories for the listener’s poll will include Best Chipper, Best Date place among many more; these categories were developed based on listener feedback. The shortlisted finalists will be released on Friday 13th June, with voting closing on June 27th

Kathryn Ryan, Marketing Manager of 98FM said: “We’re so excited to launch this campaign. 98FM are all about everything Dublin and we really wanted to do something to celebrate our city while involving our listeners. This will be a genuine poll of what Dubliners like about their city and we’re really looking forward to the results. So if you are proud to be a Dubliner then we want to hear from you!”

98FM’s Best of Dublin categories will include ‘Food and Drink’, ‘Places’, ‘Culture’ and ‘Commercial’ (which is for best shop, haircut, butchers and restaurant). The award campaign will also celebrate individual Dubliners, which will include best bus driver, bartender, best quintessential ‘dub’, morning person, street artist and trade person.

Nominations are accepted via www.98fm.com/BestofDublin webpage or text your ‘Best of Dublin’ to 53981. More details can be found on the 98FM Facebook page.
