A UK couple missed out on the £35m Lotto jackpot because of a sickening error

Ben Kenyon

What would you do if you won a £35million Lotto jackpot?

Go absolutely crazy, obviously.

We’ve all dreamed about winning big on the lottery and fantasized about what we’d splash the cash on.

But this British couple must have been in dreamland when they thought they’d landed the £35million jackpot and were probably dreaming of flash cars and five-star holidays.

David Nyland and his wife Edwina picked all six numbers correctly on the December 23 draw – only to find out the entry had not gone through on the internet.

The Metro report that the Fleetwood couple topped up their account and bought a ticket through an app with the numbers 01 – 02 – 04 – 19 – 28 – 41.

They say the app confirmed the purchase had gone through, but Camelot says it has no record of the transaction.

“I am gutted, but what can we do?” Edwina told Metro.

“I have just had to carry on with things and not get too down. Shocked isn’t the word, but as a family we stick together and just have to be grateful for what we’ve got.”

Camelot are now looking into it with their IT department.
