A hotel in Sligo had to be evacuated due to a fire last night

Thankfully, nobody was injured in the incident.

A hotel in Enniscrone, County Sligo had to be evacuated in the small hours of the morning when a fire broke out in its kitchen.

128 patrons of the Ocean Sands Hotel and a number of staff were forced to leave the premises at 3.15am this morning.

Four units of the first brigade had to be called, as well as an ambulance.

The kitchen of the hotel was badly damage, while the rest of the hotel was damaged by smoke.

Surrounding hotels and bed and breakfasts have taken in guests.

According to RTÉ, a wedding reception due to take place in the hotel today has been moved to Ballina, Co. Mayo.
