A man in Colombia has married a tree. For a second time.

Is this what's known as a treesome?

Is this what’s known as a treesome?

Peruvian actor and environmental activist Richard Torres has married a tree for the second time in a ceremony in Bogota, Colombia.

He also married another tree some months ago in a civil ceremony in Buenos Aires. We are not sure what the bigamy law is with regards to trees, but we’re not sure anyone has twigged it yet.

He is marrying trees to highlight the need to pay more attention to the man-made environmental problems around the world. It seems a fairly radical step to take, but we are hearing his bark is worse than his bite.

It sure has captured a lot of attention and for that he deserves credit, but surely marrying trees is not the answer? What’s next? Executing a can of deodorant? Imprisoning harmful gases?

We can’t help but think of the first tree, who obviously married Richard in good faith and is now standing there in some park in Buenos Aires broken-hearted and feeling like a right plank.
