A severe overnight frost is expected to hit Ireland tonight

You better bring a scarf if you’re heading out tonight...

If you’re planning on driving late tonight or if you’re heading out on the town then you might want to wrap up well as it’s going to be a seriously cold one…

A severe overnight frost is expected to hit the country making driving conditions hazardous on roads that haven’t been properly gritted. The same goes for the paths too, so be careful tonight if you’re walking anywhere far from home (with or without a few drinks in you).

Met Éireann predicts that temperatures will drop to -3 degrees Celsius tonight, which is sure to freeze up any wet patches that might fall later today.

Motorists are also being warned of potential fog patches that may emerge tomorrow morning, but most of the fog should clear later in the morning.

So just remember, if you’re heading out tonight, make sure to wrap up warm and be careful of black ice. The last thing you want is to end up like this lad… wait for it…

POW! Right in the kisser.
