A truck and a car collided on Wednesday morning.
A woman has died following a car crash in Cork, while a man has been left in serious condition.
Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a truck and a car that occurred near Baxter's Bridge at approximately 12.40pm on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on the R586 Bandon to Carhoon road.
A female aged in her 60s, a passenger of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man who was driving the car, understood to also be aged in his 60s, has been taken to Cork University Hospital where his condition is being described as "serious".
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
