Man dies in accident involving a chainsaw in Tipperary

The tragic incident follows news of the death of a woman in Waterford earlier on Monday.

The incident occurred at approximately 12.30pm.

A man in his early 30s has died as a result of an incident involving a fallen tree in Tipperary on Monday afternoon.

Gardaí are at the scene of the fatal incident, which occurred at Ballybrado, Cahir, Co. Tipperary at approximately 12.30pm on Monday.

The man was in the course of clearing a fallen tree when he was seriously injured with a chainsaw.

He has since passed away and his body has been removed to Clonmel Hospital.

The news comes after a woman was confirmed dead in Waterford earlier on Monday after the vehicle in which she was travelling was struck by a tree.

Gardaí continue to advise all persons to stay indoors and not to venture out. Do not put your life or the lives of the Emergency Services at risk by travelling unless absolutely necessary.
