Dublin Airport has issued new advice for passengers travelling today.

At least three dozen Aer Lingus flights to and from Dublin Airport have been cancelled today (Saturday, 6 April) as Storm Kathleen has landed in Ireland.

Due to the storm, Met Éireann have already issued a Status Yellow wind warning for all of Ireland, as well as separate Status Orange wind warnings for the counties Cork, Galway, Kerry, Mayo and Waterford.

As part of its alerts, the Irish meteorological service said that the impacts of the weather conditions could include “difficult travel conditions”.

Posting on social media, Dublin Airport confirmed it will be “open and operational today”.

“It’s windy, but the early wave of departures and arrivals has moved well,” it added.

“As always, passengers flying today are advised to check with their airline directly for updates regarding specific flights.”

According to the Dublin Airport website, at least three dozen Aer Lingus flights on Saturday between Dublin Airport and the rest of Ireland and the UK and vice versa have been cancelled.

JOE has reached out to the airline for a statement about the scrapped flights. For more information about flights into and out of Dublin Airport, visit its website right here.

Also on Saturday morning, Irish Rail wrote on Twitter: “Services are currently suspended to/from Heuston due to a large tree on the line near Monasterevin. Staff are en route. Update to follow as further information becomes available.”

In a later follow-up, it added: “Services are set to resume through Monasterevin. Knock-on delays are expected due to congestion.”
