Reassuring news for Aer Lingus customers.

Aer Lingus has been ranked in the top 10 most punctual airlines in the world, according to the 2018 Punctuality League by OAG, a leading global provider of digital flight information.

Aer Lingus ranked in tenth place in the overall ranking for on-time performance (OTP), with 84.46% of Aer Lingus flights arriving on time in 2017.

OAG’s definition of on-time performance (OTP) is flights that arrive or depart within 14 minutes and 59 seconds (under 15 minutes) of their scheduled arrival/departure times; cancellations are also included.

To be eligible for inclusion, airlines had to be ranked among the Top 250 airlines by annual Available Seat Kilometres (ASKs), an aviation unit measuring an airline’s passenger carrying capacity by multiplying the number of seats available on a flight multiplied by the number of kilometres flown.

Aer Lingus was joined in the overall top ten by airlines such as Hong Kong Airlines, Qantas, Japan Airlines, all of which were lower-ranked than the most punctual airline in the world, the low-cost Latvian-based carrier, airBaltic.
