Two men killed in light aircraft crash in Kildare
The incident occurred on Thursday evening.
Gardaí and emergency services have attended the scene of a light aircraft crash that occurred at Belan, Moone, Athy in County Kildare on Thursday evening (13 June).
Two men, aged 70 and in their late 50s, respectively, were fatally injured in the crash.
Their bodies have been removed to the mortuary in Naas General Hospital.
Following the incident, a search was carried out by the Gardaí with the assistance of Irish Coast Guard helicopter rescue 116.
The aircraft was located on Friday morning at 4.30am.
The Air Accident Investigation Unit has attended the scene and the Irish Aviation Authority has been notified.
