Airline employee tells passengers to flush their drugs before they encounter sniffer dogs

Needless to say, Australian company Jetstar were not too happy with the cabin crew member.

Needless to say, Australian company Jetstar were not too happy with the cabin crew member.

With the plane, en route from Byron Bay to Sydney, set to touch down with a majority of people returning from the Splendor In The Grass festival, the cabin crew member said over the PA system: “We have been told there are sniffer dogs and quarantine officers waiting in the domestic terminal.

“If you need to dispose of anything you shouldn’t have we suggest you flush it now.”

What followed was a rush to the toilets, needless to say, as people got rid of their various, ehm, potions.

“The crew member’s words were poorly chosen and are plainly at odds with the professional standards we’d expect from our team,” said the airline.

“We’re addressing the matter with the cabin crew member involved.”

One passenger was none too impressed: “Why would you tip people off about this? If they have got something illegal, let them get caught.”

However, another was more than grateful for the tip-off.

“Thank you for caring for your Splendour passengers. Very thoughtful and kind thing to do. Hope the staff member will be promoted.”
