A man has been arrested in connection with the 1991 abduction and disappearance of the Charles Brooke Pickard in County Kerry.

RTÉ has reported that the man, who was arrested yesterday, is in his sixties. He is currently being held at Killarney Garda Station.

Witnesses saw Pickard being abducted by a group of five men close to his home in Castlecove on the Ring of Kerry on 26 April 1991. He was driven away in his own Ford Transit van, which was later found burned out in Shronaloughnane Forest.

Pickard, a father of four, had relocated to Kerry from England with his wife several years before the disappearance.
