A 25-year-old Australian woman has been charged with murder after allegedly decapitating her own mother.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Jessica Camilleri knocked on her neighbours door and confessed that she had just murdered her mother following an argument. The incident occurred in the St. Clair region of West Sydney.
Emergency services were called to the scene and Callimeri was arrested and charged.
“This is up there with one of the most significant, most horrific scenes police have had to face,” Nepean police area commander Detective Superintendent Inspector Brett McFadden told the Australian press.
It is believed that Camilleri’s son was present when the incident occurred.
Camilleri has not applied for bail, and has been taken to Nepean Hospital for medical treatment and a mental health assessment before she next appears in court.
