A point-of-sale recall notice is being displayed in Lidl stores.

Lidl Ireland is recalling certain batches of the food product Reinert Teddy Bear Sausage Slices due to “the potential presence of metal machinery dust”.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) issued a food safety alert on Friday which stated the contamination came about from a machine defect.

The country of origin for the children’s snack is Germany.

The affected batches of the product “Reinert Teddy Bear Sausage – 8 cooked pork sausage slices” have a pack size of 90g and 115g, the approval number DE NI 20137 EG and use-by dates up to 5 July, 2021.

The FSAI’s statement reads: “The above batches of Reinert Teddy Bear Sausage slices are being recalled due to the potential presence of metal machinery dust caused by a machine defect.

“Some implicated batches were sold in Lidl stores, where a point-of-sale recall notice is displayed.”
