A beloved takeaway in Galway has had to shut its doors for the foreseeable future after a fire tore through the premises.
Giovanni's in Oranmore have posted on social media to announce their closure following Wednesday evening's fire.
They wrote: "Dear customers, Due to a small incident, we will be closed until further notice.
"We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We’ll update you as soon as possible. Thank you for your support!"
Many people commented underneath the post sending their condolences.
One person wrote: "Hope everyone is OK, please god ye will be back soon."
Another said: "Hope everyone is OK."
A similar incident occurred over the weekend in Dublin.
The popular bar Love Tempo on Thomas Street was engulfed in flames.
Fire trucks from Tara Street and Dolphins Barn arrived to extinguish the flames.
Thankfully nobody was injured.
In a statement, the cocktail bar said: "Thank you so much to everyone for all your messages of concern regarding today’s fire.
"We’re all a bit shaken but just relieved nobody was hurt. It will take a while to assess the damage but unfortunately it looks like we will be closed for some time.
"Thanks to Dublin Fire Brigade for their incredible work and to our amazing team for reacting so quickly. We’ll keep you updated on any news as have it.
"Much love."
