Cask in Cork has been named as the Bar of the Year at the recent Bar of the Year Awards. Since opening in February 2017 on MacCurtain Street in Cork city, the venue has proven to be extremely popular due to its original and innovative cocktail menu. Award-winning cocktail consultant ​Andy Ferreira​ has helped to shape the menu and their cocktails are based around ingredients that grow in Ireland. Elsewhere, The Old Orchard in Dublin won the award for Local Bar of the Year, while Trad Bar of the Year also went to another Galway bar, Lowry's. With over 25 categories and awards up for grabs, the winners of all the following categories, chosen by a specially selected panel of judges, were revealed at a gala awards ceremony in the Clayton Hotel, on the Burlington Road in Dublin.
