Teenage girl in critical condition after collision between bike and car in Waterford

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A teenage girl has been left in a critical condition following a road traffic collision in Waterford on Thursday (26 May).

At approximately 4pm, Gardaí were alerted to a crash involving a car and pedal cyclist on Clonea Road in Dungarvan.

The cyclist was taken to Cork University Hospital by helicopter and remains in a critical condition.

The driver, a woman in her late 30s, was treated at the scene for shock.

The road was closed to allow for a technical examination to be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators, but has since reopened.

Gardaí in Dungarvan are appealing for any witnesses who were in the Clonea Road area on Thursday afternoon and who may have footage (including dash cam) to make it available to them.
