The body of a man in his 50s was found lying in a laneway behind a row of houses.
Gardaí have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man’s body in Donegal on Friday evening (14 January).
At around 7.30pm, the body of the man in his 50s was found lying in a laneway behind a row of houses in the vicinity of Knockalla Drive in Buncrana.
A statement from An Garda Síochána notes that the body was discovered in unexplained circumstances.
Late Friday night, a Garda spokesperson said that the body remains at the scene.
“The scene is currently preserved and will remain preserved overnight,” they said.
“The office of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau have been notified and both will attend the scene on Saturday, 15 January, 2022.”
A post-mortem is to be conducted on Saturday and the results of the examination will determine the course of the Garda investigation.
