Man in his 30s dies while building bonfire in Antrim

PSNI are appealing for witnesses.

A man has died while constructing a bonfire in Antrim on Saturday (9 July).

PSNI confirmed that the man in his 30s passed away in the Fairway area of Larne.

“We understand that the man was assisting in the building of the bonfire when this tragic accident occurred,” said PSNI Inspector Adrian Bryan.

“Our thoughts are very much with his family at this time.”

Investigations are underway, and PSNI are appealing for witnesses.

People who were in the area last night around 10.15pm are being asked to come forward and contact police on 101, quoting the reference number 1866 09/07/22.
