Cadbury’s are making a €3.8 million change to Roses

Carl Kinsella

Cadbury’s are spending €3.8 million in an effort to revamp both the look and taste of their beloved Roses.

Roses are a staple of the Irish diet, particularly around Christmastime. However, Christmas 2016 will see the introduction of a whole new era of Roses.

For starts, the classic twisty wrapping with which we’re all so familiar will be replaced by the easier-to-open ‘flow’ style of packaging – the kind already used in boxes of Heroes. The design on the box will change as well, a confluence of Cadbury’s purple and the traditional sky blue of the Roses tin.

But design changes aren’t the only modifications that fans of Roses can expect.

Two of the chocolates – Hazel in Caramel and Coffee Escape – will have their structure changed so that they “melt in the mouth easily and result in a longer moment of joy.”

The initiative is set to be completed in a few months, and the new-look/new-taste Roses will be on supermarket shelves by the end of the year.

Truth be told, we don’t know how to feel – so we’re going with hungry.
