Donegal road crash

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses.

A woman is recovering following an armed hijacking incident that took place in Dublin on Thursday, 6 October.

At approximately 3.10pm at Park West Road in Ballyfermot, the woman was getting into her car when a man approached her. He threatened the woman with what is suspected to be a black handgun, demanding that she get out of the vehicle.

The woman then got out of the car – a silver-coloured saloon C-Class Mercedes Benz 161-D – before the suspect fled the scene in the vehicle. He is reported to have driven off in the direction of Cloverhill Road.

Gardaí wish to speak with anyone who may have seen the silver-coloured Mercedes, or any witnesses to the incident in question.

Investigating officials are particularly appealing to motorists who may have any video footage – including dash-cam – and were travelling on Park West Road, Cloverhill Road and the surrounding areas to make contact.

Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01 666 7200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
