Two people arrested over fatal Louth caravan park shooting in 2019

The incident took place in Louth three years ago.

Two people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in Louth three years ago.

At approximately 2.50pm on Tuesday 27 August, 2019, a fatal shooting incident occurred at a caravan park located on the road that connects Clogherhead and Termonfeckin.

A 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was subsequently named locally as Keith Branigan.

On Monday (13 June, 2022), investigating Gardaí arrested two individuals – one man and one woman – in relation to the incident.

The woman is aged in her 20s, while the man is aged in his 40s.

Both have been detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at Balbriggan Garda Station and Drogheda Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
