Gardaí and emergency services battling “significant” fire at factory in Carlow

The fire broke out at the Oglesby and Butler factory earlier today.

Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending a “significant” fire that broke out at a factory in Carlow on Thursday (16 June).

Oglesby and Butler on the O’Brien road was affected by a large fire on the premises that appeared to cause significant damage to the property.

In a statement to JOE, Gardaí said the following:

“Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of a fire that occurred at a premises on the O’Brien Road in Carlow town.

“The O’Brien Road has been closed from the Dublin Road Roundabout to the Hacketstown Roundabout while the scene is being attended.”

Carlow County Council is warning residents of a loss of water pressure/loss in the area while the fire is being dealt with.

Affected residents should have full access to water again by 8pm tonight.
