Channel 4 has launched a new gameshow with a whopping £100,000 prize just for answering a single question correctly.

One Question from production company Chalkboard TV will be fronted by British presenter Claudia Winkleman and will see a pair of contestants answer just a single question to win a £100,000 prize.

The contestants will be faced with twenty possible answers with only one answer being correct.

The contestants will then have to eliminate the incorrect answers to secure the prize, however, if they eliminate the correct answer it will be game over.

One Question is a series which will run for six 60 minute episodes for Channel 4. The show was commissioned by Phil Harris, Head of Entertainment and Events with Head of Live Events, Tom Beck.

The show was commissioned following a piloting scheme run by Channel 4 last year in an attempt to develop affordable ideas from independent production companies.

Following the success of the debut piloting scheme for quiz and game shows, the network is funding another series of run-throughs which will also be focused on panel shows throughout this summer.

“One Question is another original primetime quiz format from Chalkboard and has all the universal themes for a breakout international hit,” Chalkboard TV’s Executive Producer, Mike Benson said on Tuesday.
