CNN fire Kathy Griffin following her offensive Donald Trump photo

The’ve parted ways…

CNN have announced that they’re cutting ties with comedian Kathy Griffin after she was photographed holding a bloody model of Donald Trump’s head.

Griffin had co-hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage for the past decade alongside Anderson Cooper.

“CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year’s Eve program,” the network said in a statement.

Griffin apologised on Tuesday for the photo taken by celebrity photographer Tyler Shields.

“I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far,” Griffin said in an Instagram video. “I made a mistake and I was wrong.”

But it wasn’t enough for CNN who parted ways with the comedian on Wednesday.

Needless to say, President Trump took exception to the photos and launched an attack on Griffin over social media earlier today.

On Wednesday morning, Trump tweeted that: “Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!”

We await his response to her dismissal.
