CONFIRMED: OnlyFans has suspended its planned porn ban

It comes less than a week after the original announcement.

OnlyFans has shelved plans to ban pornography from its service, less than a week after the subscription site had announced the change, citing the need to comply with policies of banking partners.

The move comes following a backlash from its adult content creator community.

“Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard. We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change,” the company said in a tweet.

“OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators,” the company said.

In a separate tweet, the company said an official communication to creators will be emailed shortly.

However, at this point it's unclear if the suspension will be permanent.

The company announced its intention to ban sexually explicit content last Thursday at the request of its banking and payout partners.

The decision by the company to ban porn had angered sex workers who have relied on the site to support themselves.
