Man arrested following Cookstown tragedy further arrested for drug possession

The man in question has been further arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply. He has since been de-arrested.

The 52-year-old man in question has since been de-arrested, following examination of a package found in his home.

On Tuesday evening, it was reported that two men, aged 52 and 40, were taken into custody following the Cookstown tragedy that took place on St. Patrick’s Day.

The PSNI issued a statement on Tuesday, which read: “Detectives from PSNI’s Major Investigation Team investigating the deaths of three teenagers Connor Currie, Lauren Bullock and Morgan Barnard at the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown on Saint Patrick’s Day have arrested two men aged 52 and 40 earlier today, Tuesday 19 March, on suspicion of manslaughter.”

The PSNI have since shared the news that the Major Investigation Team investigating the deaths of the three teenagers conducted a search at a house in Moneymore, Derry, and seized a quantity of suspected Class A drugs.

The 52-year-old man, who was originally arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, has now been further arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply.
