Gardaí appealing for witnesses following car striking pedestrian in Cork

Gardaí in Cork are appealing for witnesses following reports of criminal damage on Saturday afternoon (24 September).

Gardaí in Fermoy were alerted to the incidents at approximately 3.30pm.

A car drove down Mac Curtain Street and damaged a number of parked vehicles, and also struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian is understood to have received non-life threatening injuries.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and was taken to Fermoy Garda station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, particularly any road users with video footage are asked to make the information available.
