People aged 49 have been asked to register first.
Covid-19 vaccine registration for people aged between 45 and 49 has opened from today (19 May), beginning first with those aged 49.
Similarly to when the portal was opened for previous age groups, the HSE has said 49-year-olds can register for the vaccine from Wednesday, with 48-year-olds registering on Thursday and 47-year-olds registering from Friday and so on.

In a statement last night, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly said Ireland was making “really good progress” with its vaccination programme with “well over” 2.1 million vaccine doses now administered.

To register online for a vaccine, you will need a mobile phone number, an email address, your PPS number and your Eircode.
If you do not have these things, you are advised to call the Covid-19 helpline to register by phone instead.

While last Friday’s cyber attack against the HSE has caused major disruptions to health services across the country, HSE CEO Paul Reid stated at the weekend that the Covid-19 vaccine rollout is continuing and encouraged people to register on the portal.
Asked if it was safe for people to use the portal to register for vaccinations, Reid responded: “Very much so. [We] very much encourage everybody to do it.
“For a brief time yesterday, we took that online system down… We did all the testing on that and that’s up and running functionally perfect,” he explained.
“On the vaccination programme, just to say, it does continue at pace. The vaccination centres are all up and running at full steam. People will get appointments for next week so please come forward.”
