Cocaine and vehicles seized following Criminal Assets Bureau searches in Limerick
The operation took place on Tuesday morning.
A number of vehicles and a quantity of cocaine with a suspected value of €20,000 have been seized following a search in Limerick on Tuesday morning (12 February).
A 42-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
In total, the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) conducted six searches at five residential properties and one professional premises.
The CAB investigation centres on an individual member of an organised crime gang involved in the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Limerick city and the county area.
All searches were carried out under CAB warrants as amended via Section 14 of the Criminal Assets Bureau Act 1996.
The following items were seized:
- Cocaine valued at approximately €20,000
- 151 Audi A6
- 151 VW
- 131 Range Rover Sport
- Harley Davidson motorcycle
Documentation in relation to the ownership of assets, financial documentation, mobile phones and electronic storage devices were also seized and are currently being examined by Bureau officers.
These items include laptop computers, a mobile phone with evidence of drug dealing, tick list and weighing scales.
The arrested man is being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended at Henry Street Garda Station.
