Is there anything worse than getting clamped? Yes, yes there is. Like when you try to remove it yourself.

Anyone who has had the ‘joy’ of being clamped will know the frustration and anger it causes, even if it is self-inflicted. One guy in Dublin attempted to do what most people have at least contemplated by removing it himself, but needless to say it didn’t work out well.
We’re told that the owner of the car may have been a little tired and emotional when he made the decision to remove the clamp, and even attempted to drive off afterwards, before abandoning the car out of embarrassment. And most likely as it was doing serious damage to the car.
So if you have wondered about the aftermath of doing a DIY job on the clamp, here it is.

We were told that to add insult to injury, he called Dublin Automatic Services in Kilbarrack to recover the car, but by that stage the guards had already got there, meaning he had to fork out twice to have it taken away.
The story reminded us of this brilliant clip from The Simpsons, which may have been the inspiration for the driver in question.
