Daily Covid-19 cases have fallen below 1,000 for the first time since mid-July.
Health officials confirmed on Monday that 892 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded, the lowest daily figure since 14 July when 783 cases were recorded, followed by 994 cases recorded on 15 July.
The Department of Health also confirmed that 333 patients with the virus are in hospital, of which 64 are in ICU.
The five-day moving average of the virus is currently 1,172.
The case numbers are down from 1,051 cases which were confirmed on Sunday and 1,586 confirmed cases of Covid-19 on Saturday.
It comes as Ireland's remaining Covid-19 restrictions are set to ease from 22 October with the reopening of nightclubs and other high-risk activities.
